Συγκλονιστική ήταν η ανταπόκριση του κοινού στην έκκληση για δωρεά ειδών πρώτης ανάγκης, ρούχων και φαρμάκων για τους πρόσφυγες.

Από τις 11 το πρωί της Κυριακής και μέχρι τις έξι το απόγευμα, πλήθος κόσμου συνέρρευσε στην πλατεία Συντάγματος, κρατώντας πλαστικές σακούλες και κουτιά, με προσφορές για τους εγκλωβισμένους στην Ελλάδα πρόσφυγες και μετανάστες.

Αθηναίοι από κάθε γωνία του λεκανοπεδίου έφταναν στην πλατεία με σακούλες από σούπερ μάρκετ, που περιείχαν προϊόντα που είχαν αγοράσει για ανθρώπους που δεν γνωρίζουν, σε μια εντυπωσιακή εκδήλωση αλληλεγγύης.

Συγκινητικές εικόνες συνέθεσαν πολλοί ηλικιωμένοι, που εναγωνίως ρωτούσαν που μπορούν να δώσουν το γάλα και τις πάνες που είχαν αγοράσει για τα μικρά προσφυγόπουλα.Προσφορά αγάπης και αλληλεγγύης στους πρόσφυγες

Αίσθηση προκάλεσε και η συμμετοχή των εθελοντών, που συνέλεγαν και ταξινομούσαν τα προϊόντα, τα οποία από νωρίς σχημάτιζαν μικρούς λόφους στην πάνω δεξιά γωνία της πλατείας.

Λίγο μετά τις έξι ξεκίνησε η συλλογή των προϊόντων και οι εθελοντές επιδόθηκαν στο δύσκολο έργο της μεταφοράς τους, σχηματίζοντας μεγάλες ανθρώπινες αλυσίδες μεταφέροντας τις κούτες και τις σακούλες χέρι – χέρι.

Οι προσφορές θα μεταφερθούν σε σημεία όπου βρίσκονται συγκεντρωμένοι οι πρόσφυγες και οι μετανάστες, στην Αττική και στην επαρχία.

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι όλο το εγχείρημα βασίζεται στη θέληση και τη στήριξη των εθελοντών.
